Having already made a statement in the UK bass scene with his original BitLoud moniker, Test Bench has served as a home away from his standard, low-end heavy formula. Almost 3 years since his alias debut (SERA002) and he finds himself making a triumphant return to our realm, this time leading the way in setting the tone of our collective’s new perspective.

Initially exploring the depths of minimal techno, “Clock Cycles EP” is heavily inspired by UK garage, breakbeat, and jungle - this results in the showcase of a lighter and groovier side of Test Bench. Warm synths met with attentive drums, carefully detailed song progression, and subtle vocal samples all expand on the idea of providing accessible DJ material for those on the search.

Tracks like “Nano” and “Clean” flex Test Bench’s ability to take UKG elements and add his own flare to them. Meanwhile, “Interlude” and “Hex” feed into the general Trax theme of preserving rave-influenced music, while still sounding up-to-date with modern heavyweight labels. The premise of this project is coincidentally the title track - “Clock Cycles” functions as a breaks-inspired anthem with an exciting buildup and clever swing in the percussion.

Aligning with the sounds that have invaded radio waves and even our own DJ sets, “Clock Cycles EP” is a clear nod to the avenue that club music has taken throughout the years. Although that path’s overall direction continually changes, Test Bench has found a way to capture and refine it, making our sublabel’s inaugural release a special one.

Satellite Trax - an expansion of our core imprint that focuses on dance-centric music and its club roots; part of the foundation within our sonic heritage. This sublabel serves as a primary source of dancefloor weaponry for DJs and enthusiasts aiming to unveil the latest rhythms heard from around the electronic music sphere.
